§ 30.01 TOWN MEMBERSHIP AND INTERLOCAL COOPERATION.
   (A)   Payment of dues for town memberships.
      (1)   The Town Council is authorized to budget and appropriate funds to provide membership for the town, its elected and appointed officials, and its boards, council, departments, or agencies, in local, regional, state, and national associations of a civic, educational, or governmental nature which have as their purpose the betterment and improvement of municipal operations.
      (2)   The Town Council is authorized to budget and appropriate funds to pay the expenses of duly authorized representatives to attend the meetings and functions of organizations to which the town belongs.

   (B)   Joint cooperative actions.
      (1)   The town, through its Town Council, is authorized to enter into agreements and become a member of the Michiana Area Council of Governments (MACOG), for joint and cooperative action. (Res. passed 3-19-1974)
      (2)   The town, through its Town Council, is authorized to participate in the construction of a fire station in conjunction with Olive Township, of St. Joseph County, and Hudson Township, of LaPorte County, Indiana.

      (3)   The town, through its Town Council, is authorized to establish the Olive Township-New Carlisle Fire Protection Territory.
