(A) Availability of service. Available for general service for commercial and/or industrial users served with transformer capacity of 25 KVA or more.
(C) Determination of demand. Billing demand in KVA shall be taken each month as the average of the 3 highest 15-minute integrated peaks in kilowatts as registered during the month by a 15-minute integrating demand meter or indicator, or at the company’s option as the highest registration or a thermal type demand meter or indicator, divided by the average monthly power factor established during the month, corrected to the nearest KVA.
(D) Power factor. At the option of the New Carlisle municipal electric utility, the rate of this tariff may be adjusted to conform with the following factors. The rate set forth in this tariff is based upon the maintenance by the customer of an average power factor of 85% for each month, as shown by integrating instruments.
(1) When the average monthly power factor is above or below 85%, the Kwhrs as metered, will, for billing purposes, be multiplied by the following constants:
Effective Monthly Power Factor | Constant | Effective Monthly Power Factor | Constant |
1.00 | .951 | — | — |
.95 | .965 | .70 | 1.0835 |
.90 | .981 | .65 | 1.1255 |
.85 | 1.000 | .60 | 1.1785 |
.80 | 1.023 | .55 | 1.2455 |
.75 | 1.050 | .50 | 1.3335 |
(2) Constants for other than effective power factors given in the foregoing table will be determined from the same formula used to determine the given constants.
(E) Minimum charge. Monthly customer charge plus the energy charge for the month.
