171.01 CLERK OF MAYOR'S COURT.
   (a)   There hereby is established and created the office of Clerk of the Mayor's Court. The Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to appoint some qualified person to the office of Clerk of the Mayor's Court, subject to confirmation by Council.
   (b)   The Clerk shall take and receive all recognizances, bonds, fines, costs and forfeitures that may come into his hands as such Clerk in the usual and ordinary operation of such Mayor's Court. He shall upon receiving any monies from any source whatever, draw and deliver a receipt in favor of the party or parties from whom such monies were received and at the close of each and every month he shall account to and pay over to the Mayor all such monies by him received. The aforesaid Clerk shall keep and maintain all dockets, cash books, files and other records of such Mayor's Court, and he shall take transcriptions of testimony in any action wherein the Village is or may become a party when ordered so to do by the Mayor.
   (c)   The Clerk herein provided may be removed from office at any time for any cause either by the Mayor or by majority vote of Council.
