The Assistant Fire Chief and the other officers shall respectively be in command of the Fire Department, and shall perform the duties of the Fire Chief in his absence or disability, or when so directed by the Fire Chief; and they and the other members of the Department shall perform such other duties consistent with the general duties of the Fire Department as shall be designated by the Fire Chief or shall be required by ordinance of Council.
