139.05 FIRE CHIEF'S POWERS AND DUTIES.
   The Fire Chief shall have charge of and be the head of the Fire Department, and he and the other members of the Fire Department shall have the duty of rendering fire protection to the Village and its inhabitants. They shall also respond to all fire calls from neighboring municipalities which have or shall hereafter make arrangements with the Municipality for fire protection. The Fire Chief shall also supervise the use, care, maintenance, and repair of all apparatus and equipment of the Fire Department, and shall keep Council informed with reference thereto; he shall keep a record of all fires and fire alarms attended by the Fire Department, and shall make a report thereof and shall furnish such other data with reference thereto, as Council shall require; he shall keep a record of the names of the emergency firemen responding to fire calls and the number of hours on duty of all firemen and officers of the Department, and shall report the same to Council and the Mayor as requested. He shall adopt such rules for the government of the Fire Department as Council may approve. He shall also perform such other duties as may be necessary to carry out the purpose of the Fire Department. (Ord. 1943-12)
