§ 150.018 PERMITS REQUIRED FOR CONSTRUCTION, REPAIRS, ALTERATIONS OF BUILDINGS TO BE BUILT OR EXISTING.
   (A)   Generally. Four permits are required on all structures whether for homeowners or otherwise, where applicable, as follows:
      (1)   Structural;
      (2)   Electrical;
      (3)   Plumbing; and
      (4)   Heating and air conditioning; provided, however, that in the event the person seeking the permit is the owner of the dwelling and premises, he or she shall also be required to submit an affidavit of responsibility and liability to the Building Commissioner.
   (B)   Permit costs and division of receipts.
      (1)   The costs of the permits required under this chapter are as set by City Council from time to time. See § 34.01(B):
      (2)   The fees and receipts so collected for such permits shall be apportioned as follows:
         (a)   Department of Buildings, Office of Building Commissioners, 50%;
         (b)   Supplies, equipment, printing costs, 40%; and
         (c)   Secretary to the Building Commissioner, 10%.
   (C)   Time period. Building permits issued pursuant to this section shall be valid for the following period of time:
      (1)   A permit issued for a residential structure shall be valid for a period of one year from the date of issuance. In the event the residential structure for which the permit has been issued is not complete within the one-year period, such permit shall become void and a new permit must be obtained; and
      (2)   A permit issued for a commercial structure, shall be valid for a period of two years from the date of issuance. If, at the end of two years, the structure is not complete, the issued permit shall become void and a new permit must be obtained.
