§ 90.62 ANIMALS IN CRUEL, ABUSIVE OR NEGLECTFUL SITUATIONS.
   (A)   Animals found in cruel, abusive or neglectful situations, as defined in this chapter, or animals that have been abandoned or have no identification may be promptly impounded if no immediate contact with a responsible person can be made. The Town Police Department shall leave a written notice indicating the location of the animal and the reason for impoundment. The Town Police Department shall attempt to locate the owner of an impounded stray animal if some means of identification is on the animal.
   (B)   Animals will be impounded and held at the county dog pound until such time the owner is found and is in compliance with the provisions of this chapter; provided, however, that in no event shall this period exceed ten days, at which time the animal shall become the property of the county dog pound.
