§ 34.05 AUXILIARY POLICE UNITS.
   (A)   Be it resolved by the Legislative Authority of the Village of New Bremen that there is hereby established in accordance with R.C. § 737.161 an auxiliary police unit within the Village of New Bremen, Ohio.
   (B)   The Mayor shall be the executive head of the auxiliary police unit, shall make all appointments and removals of auxiliary police officers, subject to any general rules prescribed by the Legislative Authority by ordinance, and shall prescribe rules for the organization, training, administration, control, and conduct of the auxiliary police unit.
   (C)   All appointments to and removals from the auxiliary police unit shall be made by the Mayor. All applications for appointment to the auxiliary police unit shall be reviewed and approved by the Chief of Police and the Mayor. At this time, there is no compensation for auxiliary members. A change to the compensation of the members of the auxiliary police unit shall be established by resolution of Council.
   (D)   In accordance with R.C. § 737.161, the Chief of Police shall be the commanding officer of the auxiliary police unit and shall have control of the assignment, training, stationing, and direction of the work of such unit, all subject to the general control and direction of the Mayor.
