It shall be unlawful for any person not entitled to possession of a vehicle to take, use, or drive a vehicle, without the consent of the owner and with the intent to deprive him or her, temporarily or otherwise, of the vehicle or its possession, even if the deprivation was for a temporary purpose unconnected with the commission of or the intent to commit a crime other than the taking of the vehicle.

(A) Any person violating any provision of this chapter for which no penalty is prescribed shall be subject to § 10.99.
(B) A person violating § 70.02 shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined not more than $500 or imprisoned for not more than 30 days.
