§ 33.139 POWERS.
   (A)   The Ethics Commission may:
      (1)   Consider, subject to §§ 33.140, 33.141, and 33.142, complaints filed with the Ethics Commission;
      (2)   Consider an appeal of an advisory opinion;
      (3)   Subpoena witnesses and documents, or empower counsel to subpoena witnesses and documents, during the complaint process established in §§ 33.141 and 33.142.
      (4)   Review, and provide future direction on, any gift waiver, post-employment waiver, or advisory opinion, and
      (5)   Review any economic statement of interest filed by officials, appointees, employees, and former employees.
   (B)   The Common Council shall provide the means for legal counsel, staff, and other resources to the Ethics Commission as appropriate.
