In accordance with state law, an inspection fee of $5 per vehicle shall be charged for each inspection made by the city's Police Department of a motor vehicle, semitrailer or recreational vehicle other than a new motor vehicle, semitrailer or recreational vehicle sold by a dealer licensed in the State of Indiana or a motor vehicle transferred or assigned on a certificate of title issued by the Department.
