§ 94.03 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
   It shall be the responsibility of the Parks and Recreation Commission to study, investigate, counsel, and develop and/or update every ten years, and administer a written comprehensive city tree and forestry management plan for the care, preservation, pruning, planting, replanting, removal, or disposition of trees and shrubs in parks, within public rights-of-way and in other public areas, as well as tracts of tree covered public lands within the city that are greater than three square acres. Such plan will be presented annually to the City Council and upon their acceptance and approval shall constitute the official comprehensive city tree and forestry management plan for the city. The Parks and Recreation Commission shall make all reasonable and necessary efforts to facilitate the city achieving and maintaining “Tree City USA” status through the Arbor Day Foundation, and when requested by the City Council, shall consider, investigate, make finding, report, and recommend upon any special matter or question coming within the scope of its work.
