Any vicious dog which attacks a human being or other domestic animal on personal or public property or attacks a vehicle, may be ordered destroyed if the court determines that the animal represents a continuing threat to the community. In addition, any expenses, including shelter, food, veterinary expenses for boarding, or expenses incurred by the procedure of the dog or the destruction of the dog shall be paid by the person found guilty of violating this section.
