4-9-3: MANDATORY INSPECTION REPORT:
No license shall be issued until the following inspection report has been filed with the city:
   A.   A basic fire and safety inspection report from the fire marshal, fire chief, or building inspector. The inspection is based on the current fire and life safety regulations of the state of Illinois applicable to B&Bs and guest houses/suites, with the provisions of title 7, chapter 2 of this code, and with the fire and life safety regulations in the most current edition of the NFPA life safety code. Upon application, the city will consider substituting a comparable inspection report completed by a "certified" insurance property inspector from the owner's insurance company. If the application is approved, the annual licensing fee will be twenty five dollars ($25.00) for each year their inspection report is accepted.
   B.   B&Bs must meet the food handling certification required by the B&B act.
   C.   A new inspection report will be required every year unless a formal written complaint from a guest of the establishment requests an inspection prior to the next required inspection. If more than one inspection is done during a licensing year, the owner will pay fifty dollars ($50.00) for each additional inspection or reinspection. If owner fails to make the required repairs or changes within thirty (30) days of an interim inspection, the license will be revoked. A license reinstatement fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) will be charged for the remainder of the fiscal year when in compliance. The penalty prescribed in this chapter will apply to any establishment operating without a license. (Ord. 2012-5, 12-11-2012)
