No person or entity shall operate a bed and breakfast establishment or a guest house/suite without first having obtained a required business license from the city. A license for such establishments may not be issued until the owner has obtained a special use permit from the city if required for zoning compliance, a certificate of inspection, and meets the city's insurance requirements.
For the purpose of this chapter, the city of Nauvoo adopts the bed and breakfast act of the state of Illinois ("B&B act") 1 and each B&B is required to be in compliance with the act. To the extent that the provisions of this chapter conflict with the provisions of the B&B act, the provisions of this chapter shall prevail. (Ord. 2012-5, 12-11-2012)
