It shall be unlawful for any person to cut, break or otherwise injure or destroy any tree or trees upon any sidewalk or elsewhere upon city property without previously securing permission from the streets, buildings and grounds committee, except as heretofore provided. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction, be fined the sum of not less than twenty five dollars ($25.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each and every offense. (Ord. 196, 5-3-1926; amd. 1989 Code)
