3-2-2: PLANTING TREES:
Any person desiring to plant or set out any kind of tree or trees on the public streets and highways of the city shall first petition the city council for a permit or privilege for the planting or setting out of the same, specifying the place or location where the same are to be planted or set out, and also the kind of tree or trees to be planted. The petition shall be referred to the streets, buildings and grounds committee who shall investigate the matter referred to them and who shall have power to act on the petition. Any person violating any provision of this section shall, upon conviction, be fined the sum of not less than twenty five dollars ($25.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) for every day that such tree or trees are allowed to be planted or set out in violation of the provisions of this section.
