§ 50.005 COLLECTOR OF REVENUES.
   (A)   Collector of Revenues; designated. The City Superintendent of Utilities and the committee of the City Council in charge of the Utilities Department shall employ and hire some suitable person to collect the revenues received from the sale of and charges for the services and facilities furnished by the Utilities Department and such person shall be known as the Collector of Revenues.

   (B)   Salary; term; bond. The person employed as the Collector of Revenues shall be paid from the funds of the Utilities Department. The wages to be paid for such employment and services shall be the amount agreed upon by the employing officials in charge of employing such Collector. The Collector shall be hired and employed for such term as the employing officials of the city shall deem proper. The Collector shall furnish such bond as shall be deemed necessary.

   (C)   Qualifications and supervision. The Collector may be any elected official of the city, if the employing officials so choose, and the Collector, in the performance of his or her duties as outlined and required by the employing officials, shall perform such duties under the supervision of the Superintendent and Utilities Committee of the City Council, as named in this subchapter.

   (D)   Collection of Revenue Office and terms of employment.
      (1)   The Collector shall have office space in the City Hall for the performance of his or her duties.
      (2)   The employment and terms of such employment of the Collector shall be subject to the approval and consent of the City Council.
