ADOPTING ORDINANCE

ORDINANCE NO. 2016-6

   AN ORDINANCE ENACTING AND ADOPTING SUPPLEMENTS TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF NASHVILLE, ILLINOIS.

   WHEREAS, American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati Ohio, is from time to time, adding supplements to the Code of Ordinances of the City of Nashville, Illinois, which supplements contain all ordinances of a general and permanent nature enacted since the prior supplement to the Code of Ordinances of the City of Nashville, Illinois; and

   WHEREAS, American Legal publishing Company has recommended the revision or addition of certain sections of the Code of Ordinances which are based on or make reference to sections of the Illinois Compiled Statutes; and

   WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Nashville City Council to accept these updated sections in accordance with the changes of the law of the State of Illinois; and

   WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for the usual daily operation of the municipality and for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and general welfare of the municipality that this Ordinance take effect at an early date.

   NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NASHVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY ILLINOIS, as follows:

   SECTION 1. That the 2016 and subsequent supplements to the Code of Ordinances of the City of Nashville, Illinois, as submitted by American Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio, be and the same are adopted by reference as if set out in their entirety.

   SECTION 2. Such supplements shall be deemed published as of the date of their adoption by the said City Council and approval by the Mayor and the City Clerk of said City of Nashville, Illinois, is hereby authorized and ordered to insert such supplements into the copy of the Code of Ordinances kept on file in the Office of the City Clerk.

   SECTION 3. This Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace, health, safety and general welfare of the people of the City of Nashville, Illinois, and shall take effect at the earliest date provided by law.
