§ 31.32 PLAYGROUND AND RECREATION BOARD.
   (A)   Creation; purpose. A Playground and Recreation Board is created in order to establish, conduct, and maintain a playground and recreation system for the city.

   (B)   Powers; statutory authority. The Playground and Recreation Board shall possess all of the powers and be subject to all of the responsibilities of the corporate authorities under 65 ILCS 5 Div. 95.

   (C)   Number of members; appointed by Mayor. The Playground and Recreation Board shall consist of five persons to be appointed by the Mayor of the city with the consent of the city.

   (D)   Term. The term of office for members of the Playground and Recreation Board shall be five years or until their successors are appointed and have qualified, and appointments to the Board shall be made such that the term of one member shall expire annually.

   (E)   Vacancy; Mayor to appoint successor. If a vacancy occurs in the office of any Board member, the Mayor shall appoint a successor to serve for the unexpired term.

   (F)   Members shall serve without compensation. The members of the Playground and Recreation Board shall serve without compensation.
