The City Treasurer shall execute a bond to the city in the penal sum of $10,000 with a surety company or two or more individual securities, to be approved by the City Council, conditioned that he or she will well and truly perform his or her duties as City Treasurer and comply with ordinances passed and in full force and effect, or ordinances which may be passed, in relation to his or her official duties.
