(A) No excavation permit shall be issued unless and until the applicant therefor has deposited with the City Clerk cash, money order, certified check or cashier’s check deposit in the sum of:
Excavation in asphalt or Portland cement concrete pavement or surface | $1,000 |
Excavation in oil treated street surface | $500 |
Excavation in treated or unimproved street or surface | $250 |
(B) This is to ensure the proper restoration of the ground and laying of the pavement, if any. From this deposit shall be deducted the expense to the city of cleanup, of relaying the surface of the ground or pavement and of making the refill if this is done by the city or at its expense. From this deposit shall also be deducted any other unpaid costs chargeable to the permittee under this subchapter. The balance shall be returned to the applicant without interest after the tunnel or excavation is completely and satisfactorily refilled and the surface or pavement is restored.
