§ 50.043 FIRE HYDRANT REQUIREMENTS.
   (A)   Fire hydrants shall be provided as specified by the city. In no case shall fire hydrant spacing be greater than 600 feet. It is desired that fire hydrants be located at all street intersections.
   (B)   Fire hydrants shall be Mueller, six-inch, three-way type, with pumper connection. The style and manufacture of the hydrants shall be specified by the city. Threads shall conform to requirements of the City Fire Department.
   (C)   All fire hydrants shall have secondary auxiliary valves. Hydrant leads shall be six-inch pipe. All valves shall turn counterclockwise to open.
   (D)   Hydrant setting shall comply with Standard Specifications for Water and Sewer Main Construction in Illinois, most recent edition.
   (E)   Final setting of hydrant shall be free from undue hazard (such as providing proper clearance from curb), and shall be at such height as required to permit a standard hydrant wrench to make a full 360- degree turn when removing threads.
   (F)   Hydrants shall be field painted to meet city color requirements. (Do not paint nozzle threads.)
