(A) Any person violating any provision of this chapter for which no specific penalty is prescribed shall be subject to § 10.99.
(1) The first violation in any 60-day period shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $100.
(2) The second violation in any 60-day period shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $250.
(3) The third and additional violations in any 60-day period shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
(4) After a third violation in any 60-day period, the city may terminate water service to the service address of the violator. Service may be discontinued 48 hours following the date of delivery of a notice by certified mail, announcing this impending action to the customer. A customer must provide written assurance that the violation giving rise to the notice will not reoccur during the imposition of water restriction measures prior to restoration of service. Services which are disconnected shall be restored only upon payment of a turn-on fee and all other applicable fees, payable at City Hall between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Friday.
(C) Any person, other than Water Department personnel in the performance of their official duties, who shall damage, deface, interfere or tamper with any installed water meter, shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined a sum not to exceed $300, in addition to any meter replacement costs.
