§ 50.08 METER TESTS.
Murray Municipal Utilities shall, at its own expense, make periodic tests and inspections of its meters in order to maintain a high standard of accuracy. MMU shall, upon written request of the customer, make one additional test or inspection of that meter at no charge to the customer if that request is not made more frequently than once each twelve (12) months. The customer shall be given the opportunity to be present at the requested test. If test results on a customer's meter show that the meter is within two percent (2%) accuracy, slow or fast, there shall be no adjustment made in the customer's bill and a test charge of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) shall be charged to the customer. If the meter shows an average meter error greater than two percent (2%) fast or slow, an adjustment will be made in the customer's billing for only the billing period immediately prior to the test date and the bill shall be recomputed and adjusted to either provide a refund to the customer or collect an additional amount of revenue from the under-billed customer. If the customer is refunded an amount due to over-billing, the cost of making the test shall be borne by MMU.
