Any animal found running at large shall be seized and impounded by the Animal Control Officer. Any unlicensed dog seized and impounded which is not claimed or released within five days after the seizure, shall be disposed of by the Animal Control Officer in a manner provided for by applicable laws and regulations. A dog so seized and impounded which bears a proper license shall be kept for five days; after which time an attempt will be made to locate the dog's owner. After an additional five days, if the owner cannot be located, the animal will be disposed of by the Animal Control Officer.
