§ 50.06 MULTIPLE-OCCUPANT BUSINESS OR RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES.
   (A)   (1)   Every newly constructed business or residential building or structure designed or intended for occupancy or use by multiple occupants or multiple families which is served by more than one electric power meter for the building or structure shall have separate water connections and water meters for each portion of the building or structure to which electrical service is provided by a separate electric power meter.
      (2)   For good cause, the Board of Commissioners may waive the requirement that a newly constructed residential building or structure designed or intended for occupancy or use by multiple families which is served by more than one electric power meter for the building or structure have separate water connections and water meters for each portion of the building or structure to which electrical service is provided by a separate electric power meter.
      (3)   The charges and rates to be charged the customers of the town water supply and distribution system when, for good cause shown, the Board of Commissioners waives the requirement that a newly constructed residential building or structure designed or intended for occupancy or use by multiple families which is served by more than one electric power meter for the building or structure have separate water connections and water meters for each portion of the building or structure to which electrical service is provided by a separate electric power meter, shall be determined from time to time by the Board of Commissioners and a schedule thereof shall be kept on file in the office of the Town Clerk.
   (B)   Water service to every existing business or residential building or structure which is occupied or used by multiple occupants or multiple families and is served by more than one electric power meter but is served by less water meters than electric power meters shall be charged as follows:
      (1)   The water customer having the account with the water meter shall be charged according to the applicable residential or commercial rates for water service and sewer service based upon the number of gallons of water used.
      (2)   Each other water customer served by an electric power meter in the same business or residential building or structure shall be charged the applicable minimum residential or minimum commercial rate for water service and sewer service.
      (3)   Whenever an account for water service to an existing business or residential building or structure which is occupied or used by multiple occupants or multiple families and is served by more than one electric power meter but is served by less water meters than electric power meters is changed from the existing water customer, the new account for water service must be in the name of the owner of the business or residential building or structure.
