§ 111.004 VIOLATIONS; ENFORCEMENT; EXERCISE OF POLICE POWER.
   (A)   Violations.
      (1)   It shall be unlawful and a violation of the provisions of this chapter for any person to make any unauthorized connection, whether physically, electronically, acoustically, inductively, or otherwise, with any part of the cable television system which has been granted a franchise by the Town of Murphy for the purpose of taking or receiving television signals, radio signals, pictures, programs, or sound, within the corporate limits of the Town of Murphy, State of North Carolina.
      (2)   It shall be unlawful and a violation of the provisions of this chapter for any person to make any connection, whether physically, electronically, acoustically, inductively, or otherwise, with any part of the cable television system granted a franchise by the Town of Murphy for the purpose of enabling himself or herself or others to receive any television signals, radio signals, pictures, programs, or sound, without payment to the owner of the cable television granted a franchise by the Town of Murphy within the corporate limits of the Town of Murphy, North Carolina.
      (3)   It shall be unlawful and a violation of the provisions of this chapter for any person, without the consent or permission of the owner of the cable television system granted a franchise by the Town of Murphy, to willfully tamper with, remove, or damage any cables, wires, or equipment used for the distribution of television signals, radio signals, pictures, programs, or sound within the corporate limits of the Town of Murphy, North Carolina.
   (B)   Enforcement. It shall be the duty of the Police Department of the Town of Murphy to enforce the provisions of this chapter.
   (C)   Exercise of police power. This entire chapter shall be deemed and construed to be an exercise of the police power of the Town of Murphy, State of North Carolina, for the preservation and protection of public safety, and all of its provisions shall be liberally construed with a view to the effectuation of that purpose.
