(a) Under the provisions of Ohio R.C. 2923.35(d)(3) and 2933.43(d)(4) and related sections of the Ohio Revised Code, there is hereby established as a special revenue fund (209.1900.3216) of the City, entitled Law Enforcement Trust Fund.
(b) Under the provisions of Ohio R.C. 2925.03(G), there is hereby established as a special revenue fund (210.1900.3216) of the City, entitled the Drug Law Enforcement Trust Fund.
(c) Under the provisions of Ohio R.C. 2933.41 any property or item that is being lawfully held as unclaimed property may be disposed of pursuant to Ohio R.C. 2933.41 and the proceeds shall be directed to 209.1900.3216, The Law Enforcement Trust Fund, of the City.
(d) The special revenue funds entitled Law Enforcement Trust Fund and Drug Law Enforcement Trust Fund (209.1900.3216 and 210.1900.3216) shall be the direct responsibility and under the control of the Chief of Police, or his designee.
(e) The Chief of Police, or his designee, shall establish an accounting system to include, but not be limited to, all cash and physical assets, a series of forms to be used through disposition of property and its receipt for use by the Mount Vernon Police Department or the receipt of money into The Law Enforcement Trust Funds.
(f) The Chief of Police, or his designee, may establish a checking account and/or major credit card account with which to access The Enforcement Trust Fund or Drug Enforcement Trust Fund moneys in a timely manner. (Ord. 1987-13. Passed 4-20-87.)
