373.01 CODE APPLICATION TO BICYCLES.
   (a)   The provisions of this Traffic Code that are applicable to bicycles and electric bicycles apply whenever a bicycle or electric bicycle is operated upon any street or upon any path set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles. (ORC 4511.52)
   The provisions of this Traffic Code shall apply to bicycles except those which by their nature are not applicable.
   (b)   A "Class I bike path" is defined as a bike path which is constructed for the exclusive use of bicycles and pedestrians. No motorized vehicles may use such bike paths except where they cross a public way which may be lawfully used by motor vehicles. In the event sidewalks are used for bicycles as well as pedestrians, whether designated a Class I bike path or not, the regulations of Chapter 373 apply.
   (c)   A "Class II bike lane" utilizes existing or proposed roadways and is a part of the roadway. It provides a right of way for exclusive or semi-exclusive use of bicycles, and is separated from motorized traffic by painted lines, curbing, barriers, pavement markings or signs.
