(a) The City Director of Law's Office shall be composed of the City Director of Law, an Assistant City Director of Law who may be designated by the Law Director as a prosecuting attorney of the Mount Vernon Municipal Court, subject to the approval of the legislative authority, and two clerks for the City Law Director's Office. All employees of the City Law Director's Office, except the City Law Director, shall be compensated as the Council of the City shall, from time to time, provide by separate ordinance, and all of such employees of the City Law Director's Office may receive, as Council shall determine, by separate ordinance, increases in pay during the term of office of the City Law Director.

(b) The position of Assistant City Law Director may be designated as a job-sharing position where two people take the responsibility for one full-time position, dividing work, pay, holidays and other benefits between them according to the time they work. Part-time employees are not eligible for unemployment compensation or medical insurance coverage.
