Except as otherwise provided by this Charter, all appointed officials and employees of the City shall continue in their respective City offices and employments which they held prior to the effective date of this Charter, as though they had been appointed or employed int he manner herein provided. They shall in all respects be subject to the provisions of this Charter, except that any officials or employees who hold an office or employment which is provided for in this Charter shall continue in their office or employment at the pleasure of the appointing official or body, regardless of the term for which originally appointed.
