§ 150.18 BUILDING BOARD OF APPEALS.
   (A)   In order to determine the suitability of alternative materials and methods of construction and to provide for reasonable interpretations of the provisions of the Code, there shall be and hereby is created a Building Board of Appeals consisting of six members who are qualified by experience and training to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction. The Building Official or his or her designee shall be an ex officio member and act as secretary of the Building Board of Appeals. The Building Board of Appeals shall be appointed by the Commission and shall hold office at its pleasure. The Building Board of Appeals shall also have the right to interpret and hear appeals of such other regulations as the Commission may determine by resolution.
   (B)   The Building Board of Appeals shall adopt reasonable rules and regulations for conducting its investigation and shall render all decisions and findings in writing to the Building Official with a duplicate copy to the appellant and may recommend to the Commission such new legislation as is consistent therewith.
