All trustees shall serve without compensation as members of the Board, except that elected employee trustees shall suffer no loss in compensation on account of their services as trustees. Trustees may also be reimbursed by the fund for reasonable and necessary costs and expenses incurred by the trustees in the performance of their duties as trustees and as related to the operation of this chapter.
