§ 37.36 FUNDING.
   For the purpose of creating and maintaining this chapter for the payment of benefits payable as provided in this subchapter, the city shall appropriate an amount sufficient to maintain the fund subject to the provisions of §§ 37.50 et seq. of this chapter or the city may elect to fund the retiree health care benefits on a pay-as-you-go basis.
