A. Term: Every appointive officer of the Village shall hold office until May 1 following his appointment or until his successor is appointed and qualified, unless it is otherwise provided by ordinance.
B. Vacancy: In case of a vacancy in any such office, it shall be filled in the same manner as such appointment or selection was made in the absence of any provision to the contrary. (1979 Code § 1-7-4)
