§ 150.021 ALTERNATE MATERIALS OR METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION.
   The provisions of this Building Code are not intended to prevent or restrict the use of any material, method of construction, fixture or device not specifically prescribed herein. The Chief Building Official may approve the use of such alternate material or method of construction on submittal of evidence satisfactory to him that such use will result in safe construction at least equivalent to that required by this Building Code; and that the quality, effectiveness, fire-resistance and durability of the alternate material or method of construction are substantially equivalent to that required by this Building Code. The Chief Building Official may require submittal of detailed drawings, methods of analysis, test data from acceptable and recognized sources, and/or any other information necessary to reach a decision.
