Whenever a public sewer is extended so as to be reasonably available to a lot or parcel of land within the Village which is served by a septic tank, privy, cesspool or other private sewage disposal system, the owner or occupant of such lot shall, within sixty days, make a direct connection to such public sewer. The septic tank, privy, cesspool or other private sewage disposal system shall be abandoned and filled with suitable material in a sanitary manner so as to prevent any nuisance.
