Part-time patrol officers may be utilized by the Chief of Police for the following purposes:
(a) To increase manpower utilized for patrol duties as prescribed by the Chief of Police.
(b) To cover shifts vacated by full-time officers who are on vacation, ill, taking personal days or are attending training courses.
(c) To increase manpower during periods of emergency.
(d) To decrease overtime whenever possible.
(e) Part-time patrol officer is a paid position. Village Council will set the pay scale each year. Part-time officers do not accrue vacation or sick time. All part-time patrol officers shall be and subject to:
(1) The Village of Mount Gilead employee policies and procedures, code of conduct and disciplinary provisions.
(2) Division of Police Standard Operating Procedures.
(3) Division of Police Rules and Regulations.
(4) The rate of pay will be determined annually by the Village Council.
