It is hereby declared that the purpose of this subchapter is to regulate and control the growth of weeds and other rank vegetation and to require the cutting and removal of the same, as well as to make it unlawful for any property owner or occupant to allow a public nuisance, as defined herein and by I.C. 32-30-6-6, to exist on any real property located within the county. These provisions shall apply to all real property used for residential purposes as well as all real property used for commercial purposes, that are not otherwise exempt herein. The intention of these provisions is to protect the public health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of the county as well as to protect the natural beauty and environment of the county, and the cumulative result of which shall be maintaining and enhancing the county as a safe, clean, and desirable place to live and work.
