§ 91.04 REDEMPTION.
   (A)   Any owner shall be entitled to redeem a dog from impoundment upon the following conditions:
      (1)   The owner establish ownership to the satisfaction of the Animal Control Officer;
      (2)   If such dog is not licensed, that a license be obtained for such animal;
      (3)   If such dog is an unspayed female and is not to be used for breeding purposes, that said animal be spayed within ten days of such redemption, and that the owner report the spaying of such animal to the Animal Control Officer within such time frame; and
      (4)   Upon redemption, the person so redeeming such animal shall pay the sum of not more than $3 per day such animal is impounded to the County Humane Society; provided, however, any additional expenses incurred in the care of such animal, such as shots and veterinary care, shall also be charged against such owner and shall be paid before such animal shall be released.
   (B)   Any animal impounded for more than three days may, at the discretion of the Animal Control Officer, be humanely destroyed; or, as an option, such animal may be kept for the purpose of adoption by a qualified individual.
