(a) Non-Police Department employees may elect to take compensatory time off in lieu of overtime pay for any overtime worked on a time and one-half basis at a time approved in advance by the Department Head of the employee. The employee is permitted to use the compensatory time at the employee's discretion within a reasonable time after the compensatory time is earned and provided the absence due to the compensatory time will not unduly disrupt the department’s operations.
(b) Accumulated compensatory time shall be limited to forty (40) hours. Unused accumulated compensatory time shall be paid as overtime pay to the employee at the end of the calendar year in which it was earned or at the termination of the employee's employment with the Village, whichever is earlier. Compensatory time may be used in increments of not less than one hour. (Ord. 2016-16. Passed 3-9-16.)
