   (a)   The Building Commissioner shall issue Orders for Correction for any point-of-sale inspection violation or violations relating to Chapter 1359, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector requirements, Chapter 1351 and Chapter 1365, exterior property maintenance requirements, and any determination by the Building Commissioner that a safety hazard exists at the premises. The CCGHD will issue Orders for Correction for any premises not in compliance with CCGHD household sewage treatment system or private water system requirements. All Orders for Correction shall be listed on the Initial Certificate of Inspection.

   (b)    Except in the case of immediate danger to the public health or safety, Orders for Correction shall require the owner of the dwelling to correct the violation or violations on the Orders for Correction issued by the Building Commissioner within ninety (90) days of issuance of the Orders for Correction. The Building Commissioner, for good cause shown, may extend the time for such correction. Orders for Correction issued by the CCGHD for household sewage treatment system or private water system requirement violations shall be corrected to the satisfaction of the CCGHD and within the time frame established by the CCGHD.

   (c)   In the case of immediate danger to the public health or safety, the Orders for Correction shall require the owner to correct the violation or violations on the Orders for Correction issued by the Building Commissioner within the time frame determined necessary by the Building Commissioner to protect the public health or safety. This section shall not limit the authority of the Building Commissioner to take any other action that may be necessary to protect the public health and safety, including ordering the vacation of a dwelling.

   (d)   The Building Commissioner, at the request of the owner or agent of the owner, shall re-inspect the premises to determine compliance with Chapter 1359, relating to smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector requirements, Chapter 1351 and Chapter 1365, relating to exterior property maintenance requirements and any determination by the Building Commissioner that a safety hazard exists at the premises. Such re-inspection shall occur within the required time for correction. The Building Commissioner shall document compliance with any violations listed on the Initial Certificate of Inspection by issuing a Compliance Certificate including the date of compliance. The Building Commissioner, upon receipt of documentation from CCGHD, that the premises are in compliance with required CCGHD household sewage treatment system and/or private water system requirements shall document compliance with such requirements by issuing a Compliance Certificate including the date of compliance. The Building Commissioner, if compliance with all Orders for Correction, is obtained within the required time period, shall issue a Final Certificate of Inspection.
The Building Commissioner, if re-inspection is requested after the required time for correction, may conduct the re-inspection, but shall not issue a Compliance Certificate and/or a Certificate of Inspection until payment of the required fee.
