(a) No person other than the Service Director, the Municipal Engineer or other authorized officer, employee or agent of the Municipality shall make any excavation, or do any work in any street, alley, sidewalk, public place or way of the Municipality unless a permit to make such excavation, or do such work has been obtained prior to the commencement of the work.
(b) The fee for an excavation permit shall be twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
(c) This Chapter applies to projects involving utility connections for properties or maintenance and repair work related thereto. Projects for the installation of new utility facilities or the improvement, maintenance, and repair of existing utility facilities within the public right-of-way are subject to the requirements of Chapter 905, Use of Public Right-of-Way by Service Providers.
