Sec. 1. TERM OF OFFICE OF THE MAYOR.

The Mayor shall be elected at the regular Municipal election in the year 1975 and every fourth year thereafter for a term of four years, commencing on the first day of January next after such election, and shall serve until his or her successor is duly elected and qualified.
