(A) (1) No delivery truck or bus nominally rated as one (1) ton (twelve thousand (12,000) pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) Rating) or greater shall park at any time at locations specified in Chapter 73, Schedule I; provided, however, that these vehicles may so park while in the actual process of loading or unloading merchandise or passengers. Wherever possible, trucks or buses shall load and unload at the rear or side of buildings. All loading and unloading shall be done in a manner that does not create a hazard to either vehicular or pedestrian traffic using any street or sidewalk.
(2) No truck nominally rated as one (1) ton (twelve thousand (12,000) pounds GVW Rating) or greater shall park on any street for a period in excess of two (2) hours, except as provided below:

(a) Any delivery truck or moving van may remain parked for the amount of time required to perform their necessary loading or unloading task; and
(b) If no reasonable alternative is available, the delivery truck or moving van may park in a manner commonly described as “double parking” for the duration of time necessary to complete a delivery. This division (A)(2)(b) is effective December 1, 1988.

(B) No trailer in excess of eight (8) feet in length and/or six (6) feet in width, whether attached to a vehicle or not, shall be parked on any street or alley for a period of longer than two (2) hours; provided, however, that recreational type trailers, vehicles or combinations thereof shall not park on any street in excess of twenty-four (24) hours. Any trailer in excess of eight (8) feet long and/or six (6) feet wide, while actively being used for loading and unloading purposes, may park for that amount of time to perform the necessary loading and unloading.
(C) Any person convicted of a violation of this section shall be guilty of a petty misdemeanor and in addition, the owner of the vehicle or trailer shall pay all towing charges.
