§ 54.51 SIDEWALK SYSTEM PLAN IMPLEMENTATION.
   (A)   Upon adoption of the sidewalk system plan the Public Works Director shall be responsible for implementing the plan.
   (B)   Property owners who have sidewalks adjacent to their property that have been removed from the sidewalk system plan may elect to retain the sidewalk and not have it removed by the city. Property owners who do so shall still be subject to all requirements to maintain the sidewalk in proper repair and safe for pedestrians at all times as described in this subchapter. Those property owners shall be responsible for the entire cost of any subsequent repair to said sidewalks. If the property owner fails to maintain the sidewalk as required under § 54.54 the city shall remove the sidewalk under § 54.52(A)(4) in lieu of repairs.
   (C)   No person shall remove a sidewalk that is included in the sidewalk system plan. Nothing in this section shall prohibit a property owner from applying for a permit for the temporary removal of all or part of a sidewalk.
