4-7-2: DESIGNATED AREAS:
For purposes of regulating the use of bows and firearms within the city, all area within the corporate city limits are subject to all state regulations and the city of Moorhead weapons ordinance (section 4-4-12 of this title). Hunting during a state recognized hunting season in city designated hunting areas is the only exception to the city ordinance regulating carrying or discharge of weapons within the city limits.
Designated hunting areas within the city of Moorhead include rural residential, agricultural, and public flood mitigation areas in tract 2 of Oakport Township that are at least two hundred feet (200') from any structure, roadway, park, public trail system, or other person's private property who have not given written permission to the hunter for bow discharges and at least five hundred feet (500') for any firearm discharges. Designated areas do not include public roadways or rights of way.
Designated hunting areas are approved by council. (Ord. 2015-11, 5-11-2015)
