§ 96.19 OPENINGS TO BE FILLED.
   All openings shall be closed immediately after completion of the work for which the opening is made and openings must be compacted as filled. Tree lawns shall be filled with soil, topsoil and either resodded or reseeded. Sidewalk excavations shall be replaced with concrete with a depth of no less than four inches and at least as wide as the remaining existing sidewalk abutting the excavation. Street and alley excavations shall be backfilled with compacted sand or aggregate with at least the top eight inches thereof consisting of compacted stone and sealed with at least three inches of concrete of blacktop matching the previously existing excavated surface. All of such specifications are subject to the approval of the Board of Public Works and Safety or its designate which may modify the requirements thereof as deemed necessary.
