§ 53.05 COLLECTION PRACTICES.
   (A) Collection from residences. The city, or its duly authorized agency, shall hereafter collect all solid waste from city residences provided that such solid waste is deposited in proper containers and placed in such designated areas as above specified. Such containers shall consist of 64 or 32 gallon toters, one of which is provided to each residence by the city, which toter shall remain with each residence, regardless of ownership. It shall be the duty of the resident and/or owner of each residence to secure and keep each toter in a sanitary condition at all times and to otherwise comply with the requirements of this chapter pertaining to containers. The city may replace wheels or lids broken on such containers resulting from normal wear and tear and not from intentional or reckless acts resulting in such damage. The city reserves the right not to replace any toter lost, damaged or stolen as a result of the occupant’s or owner’s deliberate or negligent acts or omissions.
   (B)   Commercial. Commercial locations must make private arrangements for the collection of solid waste.
   (C)   Hazardous materials. It shall be unlawful for any person to dispose of any hazardous materials into any containers specified above. For disposal of hazardous materials, the White County Solid Waste District must be consulted.
   (D)   City collection of certain yard waste. The Monticello Street Department will collect leaves each fall from residences which have been properly raked to the edge of the property line adjacent to the street, but not in the gutter. The Street Department will also pick up, approximately two times per month, limbs and brush (not yard clippings) from residences during the months of April through September, so long as placed adjacent to the residence’s trash pick up site.
